Architectural framing from EDGE Architectural Glazing Systems has been installed for the new learning centre built at the Carey Baptist Grammar School to allow for large glass panels to be incorporated into the design.

Designed by Hayball Architects, Carey Baptist Grammar School’s new Centre for Learning and Innovation is a stunning glass and polished steel building with its mirrored facade reflecting a peaceful, tree-lined environment. Designed as the new heart of the Kew campus, the learning centre sits at the top of the main oval, and connects the chapel and the quadrangle.

The building is situated on a gentle rise with wide staircases descending into the Information Resource Centre from the main entrance doors. Incorporating several spaces for collaboration, the room gets plenty of natural light through the large glass exterior wall. The Centre features EDGE’s MAX 182mm Curtain Wall architectural framing system on the top and ground floors, allowing for the largest panels of glass to be incorporated into the design, while also reducing visible metal on the building’s exterior to improve U-values.

Carey Baptist Grammar’s school symbol decorates all large exterior glass panels to provide excellent design outcomes.
