Standards Australia has just released The Australian Earth Building Handbook. This handbook sets out principles of accepted good practice and recommended guidelines for lightly loaded, primarily single and two-storey buildings constructed from unbaked earthen walls and floors. It provides guidance on material selection, different building techniques, recommendations for construction detail for maintenance and repairs, design for durability and strength, standard footing and sets out standard test procedures.
