Omega Appliances has recently launched a portable appliance range that comprises an induction cooktop and a compact multifunction oven/grill/microwave. Both portable cooking appliances are rich in features and more items will soon be added to the range.
Mark Warden, Omega Appliances’ product manager explained: “Consumer demand for the sophistication of induction cooking and fan forced baking in a portable device has reached a point where we felt compelled to introduce a portable range of appliances that are technologically sophisticated and easy to pack and transport in a family car or caravan.”
With its ability to boil water quicker than gas, stir fry at high temperatures and melt chocolate at low temperatures, the sleek, low profile, single zone, black glass induction cooktop is set to transform holiday catering. The cooktop extends the culinary options available due to its ability to achieve very hot temperatures for stir frying and incredibly low, sustained temperatures for sauces, melting chocolate, and rice pilafs.
With a weight of just 3.1kg and dimensions of just 280mm (W) x 340mm (D) x 60mm (H), OIC20B induction cooktops can easily and conveniently be slipped into the packing.

Omega portable induction cooktops also provide a safe form of holiday cooking as the surface of the cooktop does not get dangerously hot, and there are no naked flames. These cooktops can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. The portable induction cooktops can also keep cooked foods warm by maintaining an exceedingly low, constant temperature that will not burn or scorch the contents.
Complementing the portable induction cooktop, the Omega multi-tasking Mini Kitchen provides two hot plates, a convection oven, a 900 watt microwave oven and a 1200 watt internal grill within one compact appliance that measures only 520mm (W) x 530mm (D) x 300mm (H). While portable in size, this Mini Kitchen has more than enough room to cook a roast chicken, bake a cake, grill steaks and cook a family roast.
Styled in stainless steel (inside and out) and black glass, the Mini Kitchens have 14 convection oven temperature settings, a 30 litre capacity, five power settings for the microwave and a 90 minute digital timer. The mini kitchen has an auto menu, 24-hour clock, LED display, child safety lock and a 30cm glass turntable and 27cm wire grill rack.
