Bovis Lend Lease has been appointed to project manage the clean-up of the 500 Canberra homes destroyed by bushfire.

Work will involve fencing of sites, securing utilities for health and safety, demolition, disposal and recycling of waste and dealing with paperwork and regulation requirements.

With the project management services being offered to all those affected, the operation can be undertaken under a single licence and a single environment plan. The work will begin in areas of greatest demand, depending on access after clearance from authorities.

Bovis Lend Lease also managed the clean-up at the World Trade Centre Ground zero site in New York with responsibility for recovery, debris removal, demolition work, and construction of temporary structures.
