Specialist equipment hire company Kennards Hire Lift & Shift supplied their 30T air skates to help a yacht building company move two 25T modules into position.

Echo Yachts of WA sought to move the engine and tank room modules weighing approximately 25 tonnes each into position so that the boat could be constructed around them. Traditional skates would only allow for straight line movement, resulting in a slow and arduous process.

Requiring an innovative heavy lifting solution, Echo Yachts consulted with Kennards Hire Lift & Shift, following which the 30T air skates were supplied to the client. The 30T air skates from Kennards Hire Lift & Shift not only allow for diagonal movement, cutting down the time needed to move the modules, but also eliminate floor damage as they are low friction. Air skates are also a safe option thanks to an ergonomic design, reducing many hazards inherent to heavy lifting.

Kennards Hire Lift & Shift staff addressed all of Echo Yachts’ Russell Lockett’s queries regarding the air skates, providing handy tips for using them in the tough application. Russell observed that the team clearly saw the challenge at hand and gave great advice about how best to use the air skates to complete the job.

Kennards Hire Lift & Shift offers their customers a holistic solution to any heavy lifting job from a diverse range of winching and hoisting systems.
