Karndean Designflooring has introduced eight new designs to their popular LooseLay Longboard luxury vinyl flooring collection, which features five Australian-inspired woods.

Karndean LooseLay Longboard incorporates an in-built acoustic layer that reduces noise transfer by 14dB, making it ideal for diverse multi-storey building environments including residential apartments, office complexes, retail developments and education facilities.

LooseLay’s innovative K-Wave friction backing can be installed over almost any subfloor, providing greater flexibility when specifying for commercial interiors that require fast project turnaround. It also features an R10 slip rating and Group T abrasion resistance ensuring safety and durability in high traffic areas.

Karndean’s LooseLay Longboard luxury vinyl flooring is quieter than traditional laminate and warmer underfoot than real wood.

“We’re delighted to introduce these new additions to the collection, which features a mix of Australian and grey neutral woods – tones which we’ve seen growing demand for from commercial end users and specifiers alike,” explained Damien Boyer, head of commercial sales at Karndean Designflooring.

“Karndean LooseLay Longboard ticks all the boxes for project specification. It’s durable and safe for commercial environments, with GreenTag certification for environmental peace-of-mind.

“What’s more, unlike traditional wood flooring, Karndean LooseLay Longboard can be quickly and easily installed on-site, minimising downtime and saving time and money for clients and installers alike.”

The new colours in Karndean’s LooseLay Longboard range are available in the popular 1500mm x 250mm format, bringing the total collection up to 20 stylish and beautiful designs, inspired by Australian woods, European Oak and American Pine.

The two new Australian wood species in the expanded Longboard collection are wormy chestnut and ironbark. From the distinctive insect track marks of Australian Wormy Chestnut (LLP334), to the beautiful deep hues of Natural Ironbark (LLP327) and the warm, earthy tones of Honey Ironbark (LLP325), Ochre Ironbark (LLP326) and Blended Ironbark (LLP328), these Australian woods bring a contemporary Australian charm to any commercial project.

Harnessing the striking cross-saw markings of the original European oak boards, both Pure Fabric Oak (LLP329) and Shadow Fabric Oak (LLP331) showcase a layered ‘fabric’ texture with neutral undertones that make it ideal for both residential and commercial applications.

The Weathered American Pine (LLP335) design features reclaimed boards from a Pennsylvanian tobacco barn discovered after some 100 years of use. Full of history, and exuding character with its distinctive markings, Weathered American Pine is a truly striking design that can be used to enhance retail and hospitality interiors.

Karndean LooseLay Longboard is fully certified to GreenStar GreenTag, achieving LCARate Silver and GreenRate Level A certification.
