Leading LPG gas and appliance supplier Elgas has developed a 7-step plan for installing a gas fireplace in the home.

Indoor gas fireplaces will never go out of fashion; they are romantic, charming and create a unique ambience that can’t be replicated. A great combination of practicality and beauty, gas fireplaces are also easy to install.

By following Elgas’ 7-step plan, one can easily install a gas fireplace in just one day.

Tony Gersback – Marketing & Communications Manager, Elgas explains that customers would love to have a fireplace in their home, but anticipate difficulty in installation. Mr Gersback says that some gas fireplace products can be installed in as little as one day. The 7-step plan has been developed to help eliminate any of these concerns, and hopefully get people in front of a warm fire this winter, faster.

It is important however, to first decide on the type of fireplace. Elgas recommends three simple options depending on individual size, style and installation requirements.

Fitted gas fireplaces

Designed to fit into an existing fireplace opening, or to replace an inbuilt space heater, fitted gas fireplaces are the fastest to install since the flue is already in place. The Rinnai Slimfire 252 and the Cannon Fitzroy are great choices for this option.

Freestanding gas fireplaces

Freestanding gas fireplaces are ideal for homes that do not have an existing fireplace space. The gas fitter will simply connect the gas and run a metal flue through the ceiling to get the fireplace up and running. Choices in freestanding gas fireplaces include the Rinnai Royale ETR Gas Log Flame Fire Heater and the Cannon Canterbury Gas Fireplace.

Inbuilt gas fireplaces

Ideal for new homes or renovations, inbuilt gas fireplaces may require slightly more effort to install. The Regency IP28 Inbuilt or Regency PG33 Inbuilt systems are big and beautiful gas fireplaces that make great options for the freestanding fireplace.

Once the style and type of gas fireplace is fixed, an LPG supplier should be identified and a licensed gas fitter selected for the installation.

Elgas will work with the homeowner on its online system to find LPG suppliers and fitters in their local area.

The 7-step plan ‘7 easy steps to installing your fireplace this winter’ can be accessed on the Elgas site.

Elgas is currently offering special gas fireplace bundle deals to help homeowners get started with their gas fireplace project. New LPG customers will also get the LPG Gas Welcome Pack that includes $80 worth of gas credits.
