Various colours from Dulux Powder Coatings were extensively used for the facade of the Oran Park High School in Sydney, producing a dynamic design outcome.

Located in the growing western Sydney suburb of Oran Park, the large purpose-built public high school designed by Perumal Pedavoli Architects and completed in December 2019, was a finalist in the 2020 Dulux Colour Awards in the Commercial and Multi Residential Exterior category.

An articulated upper façade on the school buildings provides a dynamic and sculptural appearance, which has been emphasised using an extensive palette of Dulux colours that are graduated along the façade within angled window reveals. The result is a playful source of movement and a nod to the area’s racing past.

Dulux Duratec Intensity powdercoat colours were used on perforated sunscreen elements and other external metalwork, punctuating and complementing the dynamic network of colours.

Wayfinding was another application for Dulux powdercoating at the school with yellow used as a key identifier of points for movement and entry on the site. The wayfinding strategy was an important feature, given the large scale of the school.

Dulux colours used at the Oran Park High School included Duratec Intensity Storm, Duratec Intensity Flame, Duratec Intensity Coast, Duratec Intensity Leaf, Duratec Intensity Sunshine, Duratec Intensity Summer and Duratec Zeus Timberland.
