The Design Institute Of Australia is organising a special session on wayshowing by Professor Per Mollerup, a leading authority on this unique user-centric design discipline.
The DIAlogue PM session will remind designers from all disciplines about the fundamental importance of wayshowing principles where architecture, interior, graphic, digital and industrial design intersect in the built environment. The talk will explore communication theories, practical applications and their implications on the human experience.
Professor Per Mollerup is Professor of Communication Design at Swinburne University of Technology. His experience spans several prestigious wayshowing commissions including at the Copenhagen Airport, Oslo Airport, and Stockholm Airport as well as the new Copenhagen Metro.
Per Mollerup has written a number of books on design including Marks of Excellence: The history and taxonomy of trademarks (1997); Collapsibles: An album of space-saving objects (2002); Wayfinding: A guide to environmental signage (2005); and Wayshowing>Wayfinding: Basic & Interactive (2013).

The DIAlogue PM session on wayshowing will take place on Thursday, 29 May 2014 (6pm for a 6:30 start) at RMIT Design Hub Lecture Theatre - Building 100, Level 3 (entry level), Corner of Swanston and Victoria Street, Carlton.
