The Building Products Innovation Council represents the building materials sector in Australia. They provide a unified and coordinated approach to the rapid pace and expanding scope of regulatory change within the Australian building industry and the need for better environmental outcomes.

In partnership with the Federal Government, BPIC has completed a 3 year project to provide Australian Life Cycle Inventory data for building materials. The Building Products Life Cycle Inventory will help Life Cycle Assessment practitioners, architects, designers, engineers, builders, developers and regulators to assess the impact building products and buildings have on the environment.

All building industry professionals (architects, designers, contractors, materials suppliers and LCA practitioners) who wish to learn about this important tool for Life Cycle Assessment and want to more effectively respond to government initiatives to improve the environmental impact of the built environment should attend this seminar.

The seminar is set to cover the role and uses of the BP LCI to assist the building industry to conduct Life Cycle Assessment of Australian building products and how to how to access and use the Australian BP LCI.

The seminar program will be informal and not overly technical. Questions are encouraged to assist in understanding the role of LCI and LCA in the industry, the reasoning behind them and why they are important to delivering a level playing field for environmental assessment of Australian building products and buildings. This is a chance for you to meet and discuss the environmental impact of the built environment with the experts in Life Cycle Assessment.
