ASP Access Floors met the sustainability requirements of the project during a raised access floor installation at the Melton Library and Learning Hub in Melbourne.

Designed for sustainability, the Melton Library and Learning Hub is Australia’s first library awarded with a 5 Star Green Star rating. The library uses efficient building operating systems such as air conditioning, lighting and water harvesting.

ASP Access Floors rose to the challenge, delivering an air controlled access floor plenum capable of meeting the ecological and economical requirements, and underlining ASP’s commitment to environment-friendly development.

ASP employed the use of their heavy, extra heavy and industrial grade air controlled access floor plenum and rigid grid systems to achieve the necessary environmental outcomes.

Completed in December 2012 and covering an area of 2,800m², the project utilised several raised access floor systems including steel cementitious ultra fix airtight system with a 6.0kN loading at 600mm FFH; steel cementitious ultra fix airtight system with a 9.0kN loading at 600mm FFH; and steel cementitious HPL rigid grid system with a 4.5kN loading at 600mm FFH.
