Walker Corporation has been selected to develop three landmark buildings for Parramatta City including Grimshaw Architects’ Aspire Tower and two 53-storey towers by Johnson Pilton Walker (JPW).

The three towers are part of a 3ha mixed use redevelopment precinct to be called Parramatta Square located in Parramatta CBD and tipped to cost $1.2 billion.

Walker has been selected to develop Stage Two (Aspire Tower) and Stages Five and Six (unnamed twin towers) of the six-stage precinct redevelopment which also includes contributions from Architectus and Francis Jones Morehen-Thorp.

While the announcement of the developer does take the project a step closer to realisation, there is still uncertainty about when the towers will be built considering the height for Aspire Tower, what could be NSW’s tallest residential building, is still undecided.

The Parramatta Square development was originally to be developed by Grocon, however the deal collapsed in 2012 and the precinct has since been divided into six stages and allocated to a variety of developers.
