Timber cladding from Urbanline Architectural has been extensively applied at the Lucent, Brisbane’s latest luxury apartment project that takes residential living to a new level of excellence.

Designed by Plazibat Architects for developers Cavcorp, Lucent is located in Brisbane’s gasworks precinct in Newstead, and offers luxury apartments over 15 storeys along with 360-degree views from the rooftop. Luxury features also include a gym, virtual golf driving range, BBQ entertaining area and private kitchen and dining room as well as Australia’s longest rooftop pool at 55m.

To deliver a premium finish in every element of the construction, timber was the chosen material for the project. Urbanline supplied their Newport in Blackbutt in Stepped Expression and tongue-and-groove profiles throughout the building.

Timber cladding on the lobby’s walls and ceilings, rooftop spaces, lifts, gym and driving range was specifically selected to match with other textures and materials used in these areas such as brass finishes, stone tiles and greenery. Timber also added the dual benefits of seclusion and privacy in the oasis areas of the rooftop as well as the open lobby.

Blackbutt timber is a native sturdy hardwood, offering a BAL29 fire rating. An excellent selection for structural, exterior and interior applications, the hardwood has an attractive, neutral colouring that can either take centre stage or subtly complement the chosen colour scheme. The concealed fixings of the Newport profiles add a continuous and seamless finish throughout, with the Stepped Expression profile creating interesting shadows, lines and depth.

Newport profiles are precisely manufactured, making them ideal for high-spec architectural projects. All Urbanline timber products are independently tested and certified, and backed by the expertise of a company with 30 years of industry experience.
