The Built Environment stream at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) offers a multi-disciplinary honours class covering Life Cycle Assessments (LCA). The Footprint Company (TFC) has also presented in the 2014 and 2015 editions of the course.

As part of the UNSW mission to equip future world leaders with the skills needed to build low carbon buildings, the honours class covers LCA as a subject, with students using TFC’s Interiors Calculator to get experience in how LCA is used in real life to inform the sustainability outcomes of a project.

The Tenancy/ Fitout/ Interiors application is suitable for any interiors project across residential, retail and commercial fitouts.

Using the Interiors Calculator, the UNSW students were able to identify more than 30% carbon reductions in actual designs; and over 80% of students said they better understood LCA's place in the built environment.
