Studform supplied Korpline skirtings to South West Healthcare's Warrnambool hospital development. Sixteen kilometres of the skirting product from Studform were installed in the redevelopment project.

Opened in March 2011, South West Healthcare's Warrnambool hospital redevelopment called for careful use of fitout materials throughout to achieve the design brief and specifications.

Capital Redevelopment Manager for South West Healthcare Wayne Hall worked with Studform to ensure the application of high quality materials and finishes in the project, especially in the critical areas of hygiene and ESD (Environmentally Sustainable Design).

The redevelopment of the hospital features a cutting-edge design, which seeks to minimise the hospital feel. With a foyer similar in appearance to a shopping mall, and much of the medical equipment (usually seen in wards) completely concealed away from view, the new hospital has distinct hotel vibes.

The nautical theme in the design comes through with elements such as portholes at nursing stations and a courtyard, which will include a structure meant to resemble a sunken shipwreck.

The long term plan is to redevelop the old building to match the new one, giving it a similar exterior and ultimately refitting it over the next five or six years.
