Soundlag pipe lagging from Pyrotek was extensively installed throughout the new Madinat Jumeirah Hotel, a brand new 5 star resort in Dubai. Located next to the iconic Burj Al Arab Hotel, the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel with a total of 440 rooms is set to be the largest resort in the Emirates region.

Soundlag 4525C pipe lagging is uniquely constructed to deliver the dual benefits of a noise barrier as well as a noise absorber. The highly dense and flexible mass layer provides excellent sound reduction properties, while the decoupling layer breaks the vibration path between the substrate and the mass barrier, allowing the vinyl external wrap to remain flexible and deliver optimised performance. The external foil facing offers a fire resistant covering as well as an excellent surface to join adjacent sheets.

With no specific acoustic parameters given by the MEP consultant, CKR Consulting Engineers, Soundlag 4525C was chosen specifically on the basis of maximum insertion loss amongst all competitor products. The consultants were additionally impressed with the flexibility of the noise barrier that allowed easy installation.

About 10,120 square metres of Soundlag 4525C pipe lagging were installed throughout the hotel.
