The Platform Lift Company was involved in an upgrade project at the Pirtek Stadium in Parramatta, home to Hyundai A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers and NRL side Parramatta Eels. The project included creating disabled and limited mobility access from the Cumberland Stand and Bob O’Reilly Stand to the function area at the stadium.
The Platform Lift Company supplied and installed the Cama C7 straight run wheelchair stair lift at the stadium. With features such as the flexibility to be wall or floor mounted, a quick installation timeframe, all extreme edges of the platform having a moveable safety edge to immediately stop the lift when touched, and the platform and arms neatly folding away on a smooth operating rail when not in use to leave the maximum width of the stairway for pedestrians, the Cama C7 was found to be the most suitable solution for the application.
According to a PLC spokesperson, a vertical passenger lift was not a functional or viable option due to limited space and access. The wheelchair stair lift provided a compliant, efficient and safe limited mobility access solution without interfering with or disrupting pedestrian access.
