Lighting control and automation group, Dynalite , have been enlisted to provide an automated lighting solution for the new ‘Nirvana’ luxury apartment complex, located in the seaside village of Westcliff-on-Sea in England’s south-east. The Nirvana complex will feature latest home automation technology, including a fully integrated lighting and audio-visual (AV) control solution.

Custom design and installation group, Complete Entertainment Installations (CEI), are charged with equipping each of the Nirvana’s 45 apartments with an integrated lighting and AV control system. Here, CEI chose Dynalite to supply a range of control system elements to deliver state-of-the-art integrated lighting and AV control systems tailored to Nirvana’s requirements.

Each Dynalite lighting control system will include the company’s DDMC802 multipurpose controller, the DDRC810DT relay controller (for blind and curtain control), and the DR2PE Revolution Series 2 user control panel.

Several Dynalite DUS804 universal sensors will also be used for ‘all-in-one’ motion, infra-red and light-level sensing, while Dynalite’s DNG232 RS232 serial port interface will provide a straightforward point of integration for the third-party AV control system. All components will be linked through Dynalite’s sophisticated peer-to-peer communications serial bus network, DyNet.

Integrating the Dynalite lighting control system with the AV system provides real operational flexibility.

Residents can manipulate light levels using the AV system control devices, or through the Dynalite user control panels.

By integrating control systems, building owners can avoid duplicating infrastructure for individual control systems, which is costly. It also means that management and operation of multiple control systems can be avoided.
