Avasa, a new hotel in Hyderabad, India, brings together the design talents and skills of several stakeholders from all over the world.

Located in Hi Tech City Madhapur, the nine-floor hotel was designed by a team led by Nanda Kumar Birudavolu of Nandu Associates, Hyderabad, with interiors by Ed Poole, Poole Associates Private Limited, Singapore. United Consultants, Chennai (structural work), Eskayem, Mumbai (services), and Integrated Lighting Design, Los Angeles (lighting consultant) were some of the other participants in the project.

Opal series solid surface from Marblo was specified for the wall panels and the bar top. Opal Iceberg with 15mm thickness in White and Cream was selected for the application.

The irregular shaped site - wide towards the front road and narrowing down towards the back - was the biggest design challenge for the architects. To address the lack of open space on the site, a continuous green space was conceived in the form of stepped terraces that visually connect from the third level to the top floor.

Stones used for flooring throughout the property have been sourced from local sites within the state, reducing the carbon footprint. Almost all lighting uses LED technology, making the Avasa a highly environment-friendly property.
