When former SANFL footballer Chris Duthy turned his hand to running high quality home building company, Duthy Homes, he began with his own private Brighton residence, consulting Häfele with the kitchen fit out.

Local architect Jim Lelliott worked with Duthy Homes, consulting Häfele to help create a kitchen and games room that really utilised the combined indoor/outdoor space, placing emphasis on usability, open space and transparency.

Häfele approached this brief by providing the opening mechanisms for the large glass walls that were installed in both room. This gave the desired feeling of light and space; bringing the outside right in to the home entertainment areas.

Häfele recommended its Hawa varifold 80/GV frameless folding door system as a solution for the glass kitchen wall as it allowed for the opening of either the entire glass wall, or smaller sections, as required.

The configuration of the frameless folding door system chosen for the 7.2 metre wide glass kitchen wall had 2 folding panels on one side and 6 folding panels on the other. This meant that the kitchen space is ideal for both normal everyday use or for entertaining guests.

With the glass wall fully opened the interior kitchen space and poolside kitchen courtyard blend seamlessly.
