Germaine's Furniture  recently installed 144 wall mounted fold away beds at the Yarra House project at the Northern Melbourne Institute of Technology.

The Fairfield Campus site was previously the nurse's quarters for the old Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital. Saved from demolition four years ago, the heritage listed building has since been refurbished and is now used for student accommodation.

Germaine's Furniture designed, manufactured and installed the wall mounted fold away beds and also supplied matching cabinetry. Senior N.M.I.T project managers were extremely pleased with the fold away beds as they exceeded the prototypes supplied to Germaine’s.

The fold away beds installed by Germaine's Furniture are attractive and have a strong construction. Germaine’s also provided practical solutions to the problems experienced with fold away bed projects.

Regardless of space restrictions, the completed Yarra House project is an amazing example of the restoration of a derelict structure into a beautiful icon.
