Following their success with the original Dyson Airblade hand dryers, Federation Square in Melbourne recently upgraded to Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers at their public amenities in St Paul’s Court to overcome the problem of water on the floor.

Opened in 2002, Fed Square was originally designed for 4 million visitors per annum but receives over 10 million per annum today. From using paper towels initially in their public amenities, Fed Square upgraded to the original Dyson Airblade hand dryers to help manage traffic flow and reduce costs.

To manage the issue of water on the floor from dripping hands, Fed Square wanted to try Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers in the high footfall location. One unit was initially provided to Fed Square’s maintenance team for assessment to ensure ease of maintenance. The team was also taken to various sites where Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers were installed for a better understanding of their performance capabilities.

A decision was subsequently made to specify Dyson Airblade Tap hand dryers at the newly refurbished St Paul’s Court Amenities. The amenities have eliminated paper towels and costly restocking, the mess has been reduced significantly, and no more paper waste ends up in landfill.
