A recycling program introduced by Dunlop Flooring nearly 10 years ago has helped the company reduce their carbon footprint.

Climate change is one of the most important issues facing the current generation caused by global warming. The Recycle by Dunlop program is a simple initiative that one can support to reduce the amount of CO2 emissions being emitted into the atmosphere.

Though the recycling program has been making a real contribution towards the environment, Dunlop was not aware of the exact impact of the program on the reduction of CO2 emissions.

A study was therefore commissioned in March 2011 by Dunlop Flooring to measure how the recycling program has helped stem the tide of global warming.

According to the study by the Evah Institute, Dunlop has saved approximately 1,600 tonnes of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere over the last six months.

Using a vehicle calculator from Green Pass Australia, Dunlop compared the results with a typical Australian six-cylinder vehicle that travelled 1,250km per month.

The Recycle by Dunlop program saves CO2 emissions equivalent to that released by 570 vehicles every month.

Dunlop Flooring invites everyone to join the recycling program to do their bit for the environment.
