Hinged and sliding doors as well as framing systems from Capral Aluminium were extensively used in a compact beach home in Cape Liptrap to maximise the endless views of the Bass Strait horizon.

Designed by Andrew Simpson, the ‘Scape House’ is both compact and modest with a total floor area of 130 square metres. Given the endless views of the sea and sky from the living areas, it was decided that the vista would be framed from the interior of the house.

Strategically placed Capral AGS 419 Flushine framing systems control access to the beautiful views, providing a series of focused and framed views in different directions. While the bedrooms perfectly frame the peaks of Wilsons Promontory, the living room frames the Cape’s lighthouse with Capral AGS 200 hinged doors and AGS 889 sliding doors (superseded by the 900 sliding door).

The architect has the last word when he says, "there is nothing separating the house and the Bass Strait".

All Capral systems were powder-coated with Dulux Duratec.
