Inspired cladding choices from Boral Cultured Stone helped the designers achieve an elegant rustic setting at the French Twist Cafe in the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.
Sultan Amasheh at Oliver & Co Design, who specialises in restaurant fit-outs and designed French Twist Cafe, said on-trend design was important for setting the cafe apart from other food outlets at the busy shopping centre. He explains that a well-designed space can mean the difference between customers walking past and coming in, and is vital to creating an enticing overall dining experience.
Boral Cultured Stone cladding was used to achieve an upmarket European-inspired design. Seeking to create a relaxing experience with an interior that would transport patrons to Europe, the designers looked for finishes that would add texture to the space, complement the colours of the classic brasserie fare and be a natural backdrop for their French-inspired metal, wood and leather interiors.
Boral Country Ledgestone in White Oak was selected for the wall cladding to add depth, complexity of colour and unique texture. The cleverly engineered stone-like cladding offers a subtle blend of colour that integrates seamlessly with the cafe’s other building materials and lighting.
According to Mr Amasheh, the stone walls are the distinguishing feature of the cafe’s design, and have a strong visual impact that brings the whole space together. He also commended Boral for their support during the project, with a Boral preferred supplier delivering the project on time and within budget, while complying with stringent site restrictions.
