Leading manufacturers such as Mokum, Creation Beauman, Sheridan, Wilson Showcase, Designer Rugs, La Maison and Cromwell are just a handful of companies to introduce their latest and most innovative products at DECORATION + DESIGN 04 co-located with FURNITEX, at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, 15th - 18th July, 2004.

The inaugural DECORATION + DESIGN 04 will provide retailers, interior designers, interior decorators, architects and specifiers an unparalleled opportunity to preview the latest fabrics, interior products and decorative accessories - all under one roof.

Designer Rugs will unveil three new contemporary textures in its Australian textural range at DECORATION + DESIGN 04.

Expect to witness the hottest trends in linen from Sheridan, a company with a worldwide reputation for creating 'fashion' for bedrooms and bathrooms. At DECORATION + DESIGN 04, Sheridan will showcase its latest ranges to the Australian market.

La Maison will introduce 'Frejac' to Melbourne at DECORATION + DESIGN 04, as revealed at the Maison and Objet show in Paris. Designed by its French counterpart, La Maison furniture is manually sculpted in Asia, receiving patina by the old way which guarantees a real authenticity.

At the heart of DECORATION + DESIGN 04, The Trend Pavilion will house the very latest product releases in fabrics, blinds, curtains, rugs, carpets, lights, paint, decorative accessories, objets d'art and homewares from all the DECORATION + DESIGN 04 exhibitors.

Participation in The Trend Pavilion will give exhibitors the chance to win the inaugural 'Product of the Year' award. The Trend Pavilion includes four award categories in Fabric, Lighting, Soft Furnishings and Homeware/Decorative Accessories. Four finalists will then compete for the coveted 'Best of the Best' Product of the Year award.

Denis Payton, Chief Executive Officer of the Furnishing Industry Association of Australia Limited (FIAA), is thrilled with the support shown by the Australian interior decoration and design industry.

"This is the first year DECORATION + DESIGN will co-locate with FURNITEX. The combined event will display more than 500 exhibitors and will represent an overall floorspace increase of 40%" said Payton. "The introduction of these new elements to FURNITEX has had a substantial impact on quality, quantity and variety of exhibitors from within the Australian furnishing industry."

Over the past six years, visitors to FURNITEX have increased by a massive 84%, with last year attracting in excess of 12,500 qualified trade visitors. More than 16,000 visitors are expected to attend this year from throughout Australia and overseas.
