The ATFA, Australasian Timber Flooring Association has completed 10 years of service to the industry.

The ATFA has several achievements to its credit including a membership base of over 600 members as well as peak industry status as the go-to organisation for all timber flooring matters. The industry body’s education and training system for members is exemplary, and has catered to over 2000 training places in this period.

ATFA’s highly informative website attracts over 3000 consumers each month, with the organisation also offering a wealth of technical literature covering all aspects of the timber flooring industry.

Some of ATFA’s initiatives for the timber flooring industry include setting up an inspection system with 22 inspectors conducting over 350 inspections per year; a national industry awards program celebrating the expertise and craftsmanship of the industry; industry-wide communications via the ATFA Timber Floors magazine, Off-the-Floor e-bulletins, electronic and social media, as well as regular discussions and presentations; and industry promotions resulting in the timber flooring market share increasing from 17 per cent to 25 per cent.

ATFA is also involved in market data capture and trend analysis in the absence of Government data availability.

The ATFA is run by a staff of three and a hard-working Board of Directors who volunteer personal time and funds to support the industry.

A product of its members, ATFA is owned by its members and will only thrive more with support from all timber flooring operators.
