Aglo Systems recently custom manufactured decorative feature light cubes for a public park lighting project in Richmond, VIC.

Measuring about 600 square metres, the Richmond Terrace Park incorporates lawn terraces, seating, garden beds, trees, feature lighting, bicycle racks and a drinking fountain, and has been developed for the local community.

Approached by the Richmond Council to execute the concept by the park’s designers, Aglo Systems custom-engineered and manufactured the decorative light cubes that also served as seating for the park.

The decorative cubes were manufactured to meet the design objectives of weather proofing, durability for outdoor conditions, ease of maintenance and simple installation while maintaining a strong and harmonious visual connection to the historic surroundings.

Working closely with Richmond Council’s lighting engineer, Aglo Systems selected suitable materials such as toughened glass and stainless steel as well as construction techniques such as laser etching and electroplating. Aglo also supervised the installation of the cubes to ensure the original design intent was achieved.
