AE2 is an emerging, vibrant and sustainable neighbourhood of more than 700 residences.

The first stage of the project contains dwellings including a mix of townhomes (terraces), courtyard homes and laneway dwellings. The brief required higher than normal levels of density which resulted in high numbers of attached (townhouses) dwellings, and courtyard dwelling (built to boundary on one side). The level of density required careful consideration of collar access and cross ventilation.

Ultimately there are more dwellings per square hectare of land, with low levels of energy usage which equates to good passive sustainable design.

Key Initiatives:

  • Ensuring masterplan preplans the amenity of the built form needs to in turn take advantage of orientation and prevailing breezes
  • Six star rated community
  • UDIA EnviroDevelopment Certification. The project achieved certification across all six elements (ecosystems, waste, materials and community)
