117 entries across 10 categories have entered the annual 2013 Australian Institute of Architects Western Australia (WA) Chapter Architecture Awards.

All entered architects presented their projects to the jury on the 23 March with winners to be announced at an awards ceremony to be held on the 5 July at the Perth Concert Hall.

This year's entries cover a diverse array of projects including a prison, ballet centre, casino, schools and the Premier's office.

Developments, such as the Perth Arena and Brookfield Place, are singled out by the RAIA as being particularly significant 'given the major changes and reinvigoration of the Perth CBD that is currently underway'.

All 'Named' and 'Architecture Awards' will progress to the Australian Institute of Architects National Awards, to be judged against the very best architectural works in the country.
