The City of Boston is kicking off a new festive tradition this holiday season by lighting up the facade of the Boston Public Library as part of an exciting public celebration.

The Mayor of Boston, Marty Walsh announced that the facade of the Boston Public Library in Copley Square will be brilliantly illuminated with 3D digital animation this December as part of Boston’s Holiday Season celebrations. Anthony Bastic of AGB Events, the curator of Vivid Light Walk, part of Vivid Sydney, which is the world’s largest festival of light, music and ideas, has been commissioned for the illumination project.

Welcoming Anthony Bastic to Boston, the Mayor said that the Vivid Light Walk curator will be lighting up the Boston Public Library in Copley Square this Holiday Season to provide the people of Boston and visitors an opportunity to enjoy this season’s festivities.

The Australian curators of Vivid Sydney’s famous Light Walk and Sydney’s Lights of Christmas, AGB Events will share their expertise, working with local organisation Luminartz to deliver the Holiday Season lighting spectacle. Anthony Bastic said they were thrilled to be involved and celebrating the magic of the Holiday Season with Boston. 

The Lights of Boston will run from Thursday 17th until Sunday 20th December, commencing at 5pm each night.
