Bronze laser cut screens and timber panels adorn the curved façade of the Longbeach Apartments designed by Tony Owen Partners.

The apartments are located in the centre of the beachside Sydney suburb of Brighton Le Sands and contain 50 residential units with extensive balconies offering sweeping views of the district.

The building’s curvilinear form is wrapped in bronze laser cut screens, which provide privacy and solar shading to the units.

A bold geometric pattern has been cut into the screens to create a sculptural appearance and give the impression of an operable façade.

Timber panels following the curve of the building have been used to clad the first floor façade and conceal the ground level car park.

Longbeach Apartments is the latest building of Tony Owen’s to feature the curved façade and digital designs, following his experimentation with the architectural techniques on Hyde Park's Eliza apartments and his own award-winning home, Moebius House, in Dover Heights.
