The tallest multi-use complex outside Melbourne’s CBD has been given the green light, with construction beginning on the $330 million development on 850 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill, last week.

Designed by Peddle Thorp Architects and delivered by developers Asian Pacific Group, The Whitehorse Towers is a mixed-use project comprising two towers – one rising over 115 metres high with 36 floors while the shorter 26-storey tower will measure 84 metres.

Over 500 residential units will be housed in the towers, along with a 100-room 5 Star Art Series Hotel, retail outlets and recreational tenancies.

“We are incredibly excited to be given the green light on this development, not only due to its sheer size but the positive effect it will have on the local area. Following completion in 2017, we want it to act as a launch pad for creating a second city within Melbourne,” said Will Deague, CEO of Asian Pacific Group.
