Samsung has introduced what they deem to be the first Bluetooth mesh network enabled smart LED light bulb, which can communicate directly with your smartphone.

Using the Bluetooth mesh network and an accompanying app, the LED bulbs can be controlled by their owner via any smart device, without needing to be connected to a home Wi-Fi system.

The network allows up to 64 bulbs to be connected and controlled within a range of up to 600 metres from the given device.

The user will benefit from control options including dimming and color tunability (2700K warm white to 6500K cool white).

The bulbs are also able to communicate with each other, allowing for customised responses to be configured, such as pre-setting lights to wake you up or notify you when you have an incoming call on you phone.
