Chinese studio Prism Design has installed LEDs along a passage in the Daiwa House in Wuxi, China, creating what appears to be an ‘infinity bamboo forest.’

An existing 20 metre long walkway was narrowed by the designers to include glazed cavities on either side.

A series of acrylic pipes are mounted parallel to the pathway, with a reflective coating placed onto the corridor’s outer glass wall.

Transparent, vertical tubes are reinforced between two acrylic glass plates and LEDs installed directly beneath emit a white glow upwards.

The light from the LEDs, along with that of two additional fluorescent lamps, produces multiple reflections as it bounces off the surrounding glass.

The reflections create the illusion that visitors are being guided through an endless forest of brightly glowing bamboo stalks.
