GHD's new appointments grow market presence in property and buildings

GHD Woodhead has appointed Mark Popplewell as Design Director at their Perth office.

Bringing almost 30 years of experience in architecture to his new role at GHD, Mark has designed and led a variety of projects across Western Australia for private and public sector clients. His recent projects include North One in Subiaco, winner of the 2015 UDIA Award for Medium Density Residential Development, and 32 St Georges Terrace, a 1960s office building that was transformed with almost double the available floor area.

After graduating in architecture from the Edinburgh College of Art in 1987, Mark worked in London for 10 years before moving to Australia. He has been based in Perth since 1997.

Ricardo Kiperman, Managing Principal at GHD Woodhead in WA believes Mark’s skills in design, site analysis, feasibility studies and urban design will boost the firm’s service offerings for both commercial and government clients.

Formed in 2014, when the team from Woodhead joined GHD’s substantial international architecture team, GHD Woodhead has been recognised as one of the top five largest Australia-based practices on the highly regarded World Architecture 100 listing.
