TDA Interiors was recently appointed to complete a variety of works and commercial fit outs for several universities including libraries, lecture theatres, learning centres and compliance access services. Fit outs were contracted for Deakin University in Melbourne, the University of New South Wales in Sydney, the University of Technology, Sydney, the University of Queensland and Griffith University in South Brisbane.

“There has been strong market demand for university upgrades particularly during the university holiday period,” said Andrew Holder, managing director of TDA Interiors. The first University fit out to be completed was Deakin University’s Burwood campus in Melbourne where TDA Interiors created a complete new fit out of its library including stairs and external canopy. The $1.5 million project encompasses 3,000 square metres. “The university projects are great to be involved with as they usually offer a diverse range of fit out designs. It was a challenge to build a library for Deakin University that is both functional and also a comfortable area to learn in,” added Holder.

In Brisbane, TDA Interiors recently completed work on two large lecture theatres at Griffith University’s Nathan Campus. The $250,000 project involved refurbishing the theatres with 150 seats each. TDA Interiors is currently in the process of completing three projects for The University of Queensland the first on the St Lucia campus and two further projects at the PACE building, Woollongabba with a total worth of $3.5 million.

TDA also recently completed new fit outs for the PACE library at The University of Queensland. In Sydney, TDA will soon complete fit out works for the University of New South Wales at the Ramiciotti Centre and the Learning Centre at Kensington campus.

The Ramiciotti Centre, worth $400,000, involves the removal of asbestos and fit out of a laboratory, wet lab and offices. TDA will also complete works for the UNSW Learning Centre involving fitout of offices and administration areas at Kensington campus totalling $300,000.

In Sydney, TDA Interiors is undertaking an Access Compliance Project for the University of Technology, Sydney. The $200,000 project will involve installation of public safety materials such as tactile indicators to stairways.

Construction on all of the projects will be completed by June 2010.
