Recently completed by Japanese architects Archivision Hirotani Studio, the façade of this copper-clad beauty salon in Japan represents the passing of time.

Called Fujitsubo (which means “barnacle” in Japanese), the building has three skylight roof openings which provide natural light into the interior of the beauty salon.

This natural light is carried in to the building by cut-like openings in the floor.

Copper sheets clothe the roof and walls of the building and will become a metaphor for the passing of time as they degenerate and age.
