Indesign: The Event returns to Sydney this year in a brand new look and event format with renewed focus on world-class design.

In its 12th year of operation, Indesign: The Event in Sydney features an evolved event format that encourages Australian and international design professionals to connect and engage through various avenues. The new look is characterised by a strong graphic campaign, produced by Art Director Christopher Holt in collaboration with Indesign Media CEO Raj Nandan, which visualises this concept of connection and engagement among design professionals in the form of interconnecting angles of geometric shapes and layering of colour in subtly varied tones.

To take place over three days in August, the Sydney Indesign program offers members of the design community including architects, designers, specifiers, developers, manufacturers and product suppliers, a chance to connect and interact through numerous touch points. The event will be spread across four major design precincts and 40-plus showroom destinations allowing design professionals and general visitors to engage with the brands they love as well as see all the latest product and furniture releases.

Sydney Indesign will also present its third edition of Galleria at the Australian Technology Park. Representing an immersive open plan design experience, Galleria will feature a lively mix of Australian and global brands and product launches.

Sydney Indesign’s seminar series, WorkLife, Habitus’ Livelife and DQ Round Table will feature local and global thought leaders discussing key issues surrounding the disciplines and industry of architecture and design.

The Project, a highlight of the 2015 Sydney Indesign, tackles the theme of Ritual, and invites suppliers and retailers to team up with designers to interpret and tease out the ‘rituals and traditions’ inherent within their brand culture and creative practice.

The DQ Design Trail is a self-guided tour that enables design lovers to tailor their Sydney Indesign experience so that Australian made and designed products stay top of the day’s agenda.

Emerging Australian design will be represented at the Launch Pad, which runs in conjunction with Indesign: The Event. The 2015 Launch Pad competition and mentorship program calls on emerging Australian designers to submit their design prototypes and enter the race to win a career launching package.

Organised by Indesign Media Asia Pacific, Sydney Indesign will be held from Thursday 13 August to Saturday 15 August 2015 at multiple venues in Surry Hills, Chippendale, Alexandria and Darlinghurst.

The event is free to register and attend. Pre-registration can be completed online on the Sydney Indesign event website.
