National architecture firm Hames Sharley are experiencing a period of growth, announcing a merger and a host of new appointments on the same day.

First of the bat was the announcement of a merger with Perth-based architecture firm Studio 53. The alliance will see Studio 53’s co-founder and Managing Director Chris Maher take up a Directorship at Hames Sharley and the other Co-founder, Charlotte Kennedy will take on the role of Western Australian Principal, Interior Design.

Across the country, Hames Sharley’s Brisbane practice is also expanding. The firm, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, recently signed a new Queensland Studio Principal and a new National Interior Design Principal who will be located in the Brisbane office.

William Hames, Executive Chairman and founder of Hames Sharley says he is looking forward to working with his newly appointed collegues and growing with the added boost from the Studio 53.

“We have come to realise the importance of expanding our skill base, which is why we have appointed a number of new senior professionals this year,” he says

“As this year marks Hames Sharley’s 40th anniversary, our alliance with Studio 53 also represents the next step in our continued growth as a national practice and major player in the marketplace.”

Hames Sharley currently has offices in Perth, Darwin, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide.
