Museums, wineries, high rises, private homes and bridges were among this year's winners at the American Architecture Awards. The winning designs were announced this week by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

The annual event honours the best new buildings designed and constructed by American architects working in the United States and abroad, as well as by international architects who worked on buildings designed and built in the United States.

The 2017 awards had 79 winners across multiple categories, selected by a jury composed of Greek architects in Athens. Together, the jury selected winners from over 300 shortlisted buildings and urban planning projects.
