Willis Greenhalgh Architects designed the new $43 million
Eastwood at Woolloongabba apartment s in Brisbane, the developers Pellicano
Group saying they have created edgy architecture that would be at home in
Sydney or Melbourne’s trendiest precincts.
The Brisbane-based architects designed the external façade to
matche finely detailed bold rectangles of expressed black steel frame, with
glass, white and splashes of green.
Willis Greenhalgh Architects’ Adam Formosa said the unique
design of the eight-level building gave Eastwood a modern edge, which stood
apart on the Brisbane skyline.
“Eastwood has a real dynamic metropolitan design, which will
be complemented with extensive sub-tropical landscaping to retain that unique
Brisbane feel,” he said.
“Its crowning jewel will be an outdoor cinema deck on the
top level, providing panoramic city views and a place for residents to relax
and unwind.
“The deck will include a large projection screen and
wireless headphones for users, to avoid them disturbing neighbours, along with comfortable
beanbag style seating on a lush synthetic turfed deck area, timber-style
decking and a cool down shower.”
Formosa said Eastwood had been designed to blend its ‘edgy
look and features with affordability’, with a mix of studio, one, two and three
bedroom apartments.
“The apartments feature stone benchtops to the kitchens and
bathrooms, stainless steel appliances, air-conditioning, large balconies and a
minimum of one secure carpark per apartment,” he said.
“A variety of apartments also include city and/or Moreton
Bay views, and those that face west feature sliding external sun screens.
“Eastwood has been designed to appeal to both
owner-occupiers and investors, through its on-site facilities, design and
location, in close proximity to Woolloongabba’s cafes, restaurants and bars,
which all make it an attractive place to live.
He said the apartments are being offered at “great value”,
priced from $295,000.
The project is being developed by Pellicano Group, whose joint
managing director Nando Pellicano said Eastwood would set the trend for
development in Woolloongabba.
“This area is earmarked for significant growth in the coming
years, which is expected to see it transformed into one of Brisbane’s most
stylish precincts, however, at the moment it is among the city’s most tightly
held and undersupplied markets,” he said.
“Eastwood is leading
the charge in terms of new development and its funky urban design has appealed
to a diverse mix of apartment buyers, who are keen to get on board now and be
part of Woolloongabba’s future growth.
