Women architects to debate gender equity in architecture

Monash University and Parlour will host Australia’s first wikiD writing workshop this month and are requesting you join their quest to have a diverse and wide range of women in architecture written into Wikipedia.

WikiD: women, Wikipedia, design is an international education and advocacy program born as an idea to increase the representation of women in the built environment on Wikipedia. The initiative was launched by Parlour, Architexx (New York) and n-ails (Berlin) back in March, and in Australia has culminated in two “Wikiparties” hosted by Sibling (Melbourne) and The NSW Architects Registration Board (Sydney) on International Women’s Day, March 8.

The Monash Art Design and Architecture (MADA) faculty will now host the first Australian wikiD writers workshop on Sunday, September 13 from 11.30 am – 4 pm and have asked that those wishing to participate register here.
