Melbourne-based interior design firm STUDIOMINT has been awarded Best of Design for the 2015 Houzz Awards, selected by more than 25 million users on the home renovation and design platform, and from a pool of over 500,000 home professionals worldwide.

The Best of Houzz awards fall under two categories: ‘Design’ and ‘Customer Satisfaction’. Design awards are granted to home professionals whose work was the most popular among Houzz users, while Customer Satisfaction honours are determined by a variety of factors, including the number and quality of client reviews received by a professional in 2014.

“We’re really honoured to win the award from Houzz. Initially we thought we won a local Best of Houzz award, but we were really blown away when we understood this was a global award. Houzz has been an active site for STUDIOMINT, not only a destination to showcase our work, but have a two way conversation with the community who ask questions about our designs and selection of materials and furniture,” says Ilya Frolov, Managing Director of STUDIOMINT.

“We often work in a silo environment with a sole focus per project with the measure of our success being the important feedback we get from our clients,” adds the firm’s Creative Director, Alla Delion.

“It’s phenomenal to have further validation for our work by the global community. Houzz has really opened the global door for our industry.”

Winners of the awards will receive recognition through the Houzz website and profile page.

Houzz was recently named by Fast Company as one of the world’s most innovative architectural companies, joining a list that includes Denmark’s Bjarke Ingels Group and C.F. Moller Architects, and the US’ Perkins+Will. Created by a husband and wife team who went through a frustrating ordeal to remodel their house, the website aims to connect consumers with trusted home renovators and professional designers such as landscape architects.

Houzz also recently launched in Australia.
