The 2015 edition of the Electrolux Design Lab competition will seek innovative ideas from young and talented designers on the theme ‘Healthy Happy Kids’. This year’s design competition also offers an additional incentive for young designers to participate with the cash prize being doubled for the winners.

Electrolux’s Design Lab is a global design competition that annually receives more than 1,700 submissions from over 60 countries. Now in its 13th year, the competition searches for innovative and creative designs, offering all stakeholders and participants a look into the future of home appliances.

According to Lars Erikson, Senior Vice President of Design at Electrolux and Head of the Design Lab Jury, the competition also gives the company an opportunity to connect and collaborate with young, talented designers from around the world who want to make a difference.

This year’s theme of ‘Healthy Happy Kids’ positions children at the heart of the competition. He explained that Electrolux was looking for new solutions and bold ideas that would help improve the everyday lives of families with kids.
