Unbuilt buildings represent the forgotten dreams of architects, and RubberBond's new infographic explores how different our skylines would be if these 25 plans by famous practitioners such as Gaudi, Wright and Foster were realised.

From a London pyramid mausoleum for five million corpses, to a dome that would have covered the whole of Manhattan, the list includes one project by Australian practice Woods Bagot.

"At best the drawings and blueprints will now be displayed in museums, though that's small consolation to the architects who stayed up late at night scribbling, while envisaging a skyline that would proudly display their signature style."

Would London have benefitted from an Eiffel replica, or were these projects doomed from the start? As Frank Lloyd Wright said about one project, "there's no use casting pearls against swine".
