David Gole, Principal at Conrad Gargett Riddel Ancher Mortlock Woolley (CGRAMW), will feature in a Brisbane City campaign aimed at driving business confidence and community pride ahead of the November G20 Leaders Summit.

Gole is the sole architect in the ‘Team Brisbane’ campaign which also includes Keith Urban, Darren Lockyer, Li Cunxin, Matthew Hayden and Professor Ian Frazer, among several other Brisbane locals.

A press release from CGRAMW (continued below) observes that the Team Brisbane Campaign will aim to profile locals that have risen to the top of their fields and earned the admiration of people locally, nationally and abroad.

“As a representative of CGRAMW, Gole is recognised for his expertise in conserving and giving new life to buildings and places of cultural and heritage significance, which has helped the firm win major commissions including the first stage of the historic Africa Hall revitalisation project in Ethiopia, as a major conference centre and tourist destination.

Gole is a UNESCO Accredited Heritage Impact Assessor for world heritage sites and has recently been involved in training architects, planners and academics from Myanmar (Burma) in heritage conservation and adaptive reuse. He is also currently part of the team at CGRAMW preparing a Conservation Management Plan for Australian Parliament House.

Locally, Gole has been involved in the restoration and adaptation of Brisbane’s Customs House and the national award-winning former West’s Furniture Showroom in Fortitude Valley, among many other projects.

Gole emphasises he would not have achieved good project outcomes without a supportive local team in the practice.

‘I am very humbled to have been selected for this campaign, amongst some of Brisbane’s most successful and high profile locals. I see this as a valuable opportunity to represent the collective efforts of many. I work with a great team at CGRAMW who are behind the success of every project.’

Gole’s involvement in the campaign is also a positive opportunity to represent the architecture profession and highlight the important role architects play in the community.

The Team Brisbane initiative will be rolled out by Brisbane Marketing via television, radio, digital and print, and will include a series of events and activities across the city.

The G20 Leaders Summit is being held in Brisbane in November 2014 and is the principal forum for international economic cooperation and decision-making, involving leaders from the world's most influential countries.

The Team Brisbane campaign also provides a strong platform to capitalise on the city’s imminent international exposure coming from the Asia Cup soccer, Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Global CafĂ©, and cricket’s World Cup and Test matches.”
